While doing work before the construction of a water main in West Knoyle, workers found the bodies of four iron age people, one of them being a footless woman.
Her feet were reburied next to her along with goat bones by her head. This could have been some kind of symbolic rituals or even to keep away bad spirits and protect her soul.
Along with her remains were the bodies of a ten year old child and two men who had sword wounds in their hips.
The reasoning behind this discovery is still be analysed, and since the discovery the skeletons have been removed for dating.
