Hittite tablet to be deciphered using 3D scanning

An ancient tablet with Hittite cuneiform writing will be deciphered using 3D scanning. The tablet is 3,500 years old and was found in the ancient city of Hattusa in the Anatolian Province.


Leading the excavations was Assistant Professor Andreas Schachner, who will be working with Hittitologist Professor Marazzi to decipher the inscription and the scan the tablet.

The results will be announced next year at a symposium.
